Who we are
Rat Rig stands out in the 3D Printing and CNC sector as a pioneering company offering DIY kits. We are celebrated for our commitment to open-source principles and the utilization of predominantly standard/modular components, allowing for unmatched freedom to customize, modify and upgrade our products. Consistently integrating the latest technology, Rat Rig focuses on delivering cutting-edge performance while maintaining affordability across the entire product range.
Currently, our small but fierce team of about 30 people operates from a 2000m² warehouse near Faro.
What we do
We are firm believers in taking our destiny into our own hands via insourcing and vertical integration. Our team may be small but gets a lot done, from finding under-served market niches, understanding their needs, developing and designing original products and solutions, sourcing & quality controlling hardware components and electronics, assembling and testing prototypes, writing comprehensive documentation, fabricating and packing kits, selling them via our on-line store, delivering them worldwide, all the way down to providing support to our end users, listening to their issues and closing the loop by integrating all their feedback back into the product and process, so we keep correcting course and getting better at what we do.
We also make sure to rely as much as possible on our own products and designs for our own internal needs and operations, so we never lose touch of the real-life user experience they provide.

3D Printers
V-Core - our flagship 3D printer is a highly configurable CoreXY capable of print areas up to 500x500 and designed for world-class performance. V-Minion - our entry level model is possibly the most configurable and highest performant small format 3D printer in the market.
CNC Machines
Stronghold Pro - our top of the line CNC Machine is capable of work areas up to 1500x1500mm, providing unparalleled accuracy and performance that rivals industrial machines at a fraction of the cost. Stronghold One - our entry level CNC Machine offers unbeatable performance at its price point and offers work areas up to 1250x1250mm.
Video Equipment
V-Slider - the very first product line introduced by Rat Rig, the V-Slider is a mature product that offers smoothly stabilized camera movement on a very compact and lightweight package.

Aluminum Profiles
Build any structure you can think of with highly modular V-Slot and T-Slot profiles, with multiple varieties available in 3 series (20, 30 and 40mm), in black or natural colour and in standard or customs lengths.
Community
Over time, multiple on-line communities dedicated to our products have grown, comprising many thousands of active users today. These communities spread across multiple languages and platforms, and much more than a continuous source of feedback and inspiration for our internal development, they are a hive-mind that expands our reach far beyond what we could accomplish by ourselves. They clarify the questions of newcomers, provide them with support and experience, give them tips and ideas, troubleshoot common issues, and add all sorts of contributions in the form of mods, upgrades, adaptations for different use-cases, etc. The brightest stars in our user communities are often invited into our beta testing programs, where we use their input to keep pushing the envelope and taking our products to the next level.
